Copenhagen, Denmark

Throughout Copenhagen, I often saw baby buggies parked on the sidewalk outside cafés and small shops. I thought it was because the buggy or pram couldn’t make it down the stairs or fit through what was usually a very narrow doorway.

It wasn’t ’til I heard crying from one that I realized the buggies had babies in them.

My trip to the Louisiana Museum was no exception. Despite freezing temperatures, while parents lunched inside at the museum café, their kids were parked outside, sleeping away.

I knew Danish parents pride themselves on fostering independence in their children early. I didn’t know it (literally) started in the cradle!
