I travel for many reasons…to move, to go, to journey, to address the new and different, to acknowledge the vast distance and all of the epic social and cultural pluralism and—at the same time—to celebrate the commonality of being human as well.
Let’s not forget that commonality. It is greater than we think.
Twist
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry,
but by demonstrating that all peoples
cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die,
it can introduce the idea that
if we try and understand each other,
we may even become friends.
