This app gives you the (humorous) 411 on popular neighborhoods around the world.
HoodMaps is an entertaining way to view neighborhoods, plus it gives you the lay of the land if you’re traveling away from home.
Color coding identifies where you’ll find offices, the rich, the hip, tourists, universities, and “normies.” Then, crowdsourced labels are layered on top.
In Denver, tags include “Angry Geese” in Washington Park (which I have been chased by) and “Forget About Parking” near the Denver Art Museum (true that!).
London comments feature “Tourists in Way taking Selfies,” “Best Bagels in Town,” and “Beatles Crossing,” among many others.
And Tokyo has “Books Everywhere,” “Shops You Can’t Afford,” and “Great Ramen!” marked.
As for New York…you just have to see for yourself.
